The Between

What happens when human beings learn how to open a door they did not create—and discover that something on the other side can answer?

After the events of The Siren Protocol, Raya is armed with more knowledge and fewer certainties than she has ever had. She knows InveTemp is real. She knows the artifacts matter. She knows Fabian returned from somewhere called The Between. She knows Daniel may still exist in some altered form. And she knows that Nyck, although he is dead, may be giving off signals that are more than memory. 

Finally, there is something in Salzburg that Marek needs to return to, which may provide answers to opening the door to The Between.

What Raya does not yet know is where The Siren Protocol intersects with The Between. Is it in the Furvus Fidelis structure and its affiliated corrupt organizations? Is it in the chrono-core, where she continues to receive signals from something she cannot name. Or is it from the people stuck in The Between themselves, whether that source is Nyck, Daniel or someone else?

The Between becomes both an investigation into Nyck’s hidden years, and a confrontation of the present and future surrounding the phenomenon within the limits of human explanation.
